Yes, if:
- you leave the property in a clearly dirty or unacceptable condition, and extra or professional cleaning is needed to bring it back to a reasonable standard.
In that case, the landlord can:
- organize cleaning,
- pay the cleaning company, and
- deduct the actual cleaning cost from your security deposit.
If the property is left reasonably clean and only standard final cleaning is needed (within normal expectations), no or minimal cleaning costs should be deducted from the deposit.
